The first time I heard about Shaklee products, I was reading a wonderful blog called House of Grace. Bonnie makes cleaning seem really easy. If you browse her blog you’ll find lots of great tips on cleaning and organizing your home
Bonnie sent me some Shaklee cleaning products to try. I was excited to try them because from what I’ve read, these products are eco-friendly, effective and economical. Three qualities that I love in a cleaner.
Bonnie sent me a bottle of Basic H2 Concentrate, a set of three spray bottles, Scour-Off Paste and a special microfiber glass cloth. I was impressed right out of the box. You actually mix your own cleaner using the Basic H2 Concentrate, mixing different dilutions for different cleaning jobs. The spray bottles make it really easy because the dilution instructions are printed on the back! (Plus, they’re really cute and who doesn’t appreciate a little cuteness when you’re cleaning!)
Now comes the embarrassing part of the post where I share some of the less than sparkling aspects of my house…
First up, windows:
Can you see that film on there? This is one of the many windows in my family room Before.
After using the Basic H2 diluted for windows and the microfiber cleaning cloth. That cloth is an amazing little gizmo. I wish you could stand in my family room and take a look out the window. You can’t even tell there’s a window there now.
Next up, the inside of my oven door:
I must admit that I cooked a prime rib roast for Christmas and have yet to clean my oven. The right side here is the Before: It’s got that greasy, sticky stuff all over it. The left side is the After: just a little Scour-off paste and water and the yuck came right off and I was left with a brilliant shine that I haven’t seen since the oven was new. The Scour-off Paste was an amazing workhorse and smelled just like yummy cherries.
Mixed at an “All-Purpose” strength, I used Basic H2to clean my counters, floors, and whatever surface in my home I wanted to wipe down and clean up. I love this product so much that I’ve already had to mix up another 16-0z bottle. One bottle of the Basic H2 concentrate lasts a long time. It looks like I’ll have years worth of cleaners in that one little bottle.
One of my favorite things about these products is something that they are lacking: a strong, nasty, chemical odor. I am extremely sensitive to smells and allergic to a lot of products. I loved that I could clean to my heart’s content and never sneeze once. Some of the products that I have used in the past actually gave me a headache and made my eyes water. The Basic H2 doesn’t have a scent at all – I LOVE that!!
My conclusion:
I love these products! They are effective, easy to use and economical. I will definitely be a repeat customer!
Now, here’s the great part! Bonnie is going to give away 10 samples of Basic H2 to my readers! Each little vial holds enough Basic H2 to make two bottles of powerful cleaner when diluted in 16 ounces of water.
Make sure you enter because this is really good stuff!

My most un-favorite cleaning chore would probably be sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor! I did just buy a steam mop that steams water to clean.. I also love cleaning solutions that don't include a lot of harsh chemicals...especially now since I am pregnant!

ReplyDeleteMy wood floors. They seem to go on forever. With grandkids and a dog it's amazing I don't spend all of my free time scrubbing.
ReplyDeleteI hate hate hate washing the floors. With my fibromyalgia and I'm worn out afterwards. I also hate washing the bathtub cause it's hard to bend over.
ReplyDeleteYucky dishes. I really hate dealing with gross food. I do not understand why people put garbage in the sink! I had a roommate in collage who would leave half eaten waffles in the sink! Gross.
ReplyDeleteI have boys and I HATE cleaning their bathroom! And Liz - my husband is notorious for letting things "soak" only he never goes on to the cleaning part and I am left with nasty dirty cold water - that also usually has forks and knives at the bottom. WHY???? Ha ha!

Least fav chore: Cleaning windows and oven, both of which I'm gonna have to break down and do as we pack up to move out and let our new tenants move in!
ReplyDeleteI guess leaving my email would be helpful. A day later and my least fav cleaning chore is still the boys bathroom. haha
