I bought this cedar chest at a consignment store years ago. It’s been quietly sitting in the corner of our bedroom for the last several years. Most of the time, it’s covered with stuff. Books, laundry that need to be folded and other miscellaneous stuff.
One of my goals this year is to turn our bedroom into more of a relaxing sanctuary. That means getting rid of clutter catching items like this cedar chest. So I decided to move this piece of furniture out of the bedroom and into our living room.
That means a new paint job. Take a look at this beauty. I followed the advice Mandie of Altar’d outlines in her Refinishing Guide E-book. I painted it in my favorite Behr black: Black Suede, and distressed it just a bit.
