Have you ever revamped something, lived with it a while and decided that you weren’t quite done with it yet? Allow me to introduce my entry coat rack:
Last fall, I turned an
old window into this great coat rack. It has definitely helped clean up my entry way clutter. Functionally, I was loving it. Aesthetically, it was definitely lacking something. There just wasn’t enough contrast between my Navajo White walls and the Heirloom White of the frame.

It’s time to paint! I mixed up a soft blue color using paints I already had.

It’s already looking better…

A little smoky glaze and it’s almost perfect. I like to brush the glaze on and then wipe it off with an old rag. I like the softer look it produces.

I think the contrast is much better against the wall now!

Functional, but a lot prettier now!
Are you a repeat revamper like me?

What a cute idea! I really like how you used the old window as a coat hanger! And I love the look of the window. I even made my husband walk over to my computer so I could show it to him :-)

ReplyDeleteLove that color, Carolyn! I think that did it ~ it looks great hanging on your wall. I have done that a few times myself over the years. In fact, I have a project I did recently that I'm not real happy with and I'm not sure which way to go with it at this point.
