Welcome to My Backyard Eden: Where Creativity, Homemaking, and Real Life collide. This blog was created as a place to start a conversation about all things creative and home related; as well as anything else that crosses my mind.
I love doing things that used to be second nature to our grandmothers: sewing, cooking, baking, knitting, crafting, gardening, canning, decorating, DIY projects and sometimes making due with what I already have. I love making our house feel like home.
I'm not a designer, but I know what I like. I'm no Martha, but I'm OK with that too.
I live in a cozy, comfortable house in a sweet, little town, smack dab in the middle of a suburban cul-de-sac. It’s not a new house, but it’s not old enough to have much character either. Which is nice, because it means there’s always a project to be done. My house is messy, loud and lived in. With two kids that play competitive soccer, I'm always running out the door somewhere.
I'm lucky enough to work part time outside the home at a really nice flexible company that's in my hometown so I don't have a commute.
I have a great hard working husband, a teen-aged son and a tween daughter. Rosie the labradoodle and Franklin the Russian tortoise round out our household.
I hope you’ll join me as I continue my adventures in creative homemaking. I love comments and emails so please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments or requests. Thanks for stopping by!
