Hello Again, Hello.

October 23, 2011

Where have I been, you ask?

I wish I had a fantastic story to tell, or some amazing adventures to share.

My reason is pretty boring.

Earlier this year, I found myself doing projects for the sake of having something to post on this blog.  Not because I really wanted to do them.  I lost track of why I used to like to be here.

I just got burnt out.

I was trying to keep up with some of my favorite uber-amazing blogs and always ended up feeling less than.   I’ve decided to stop comparing myself to others, it just never ends well.   I will probably never write the blog that makes tons of money each month, but that’s OK with me.

I’ll still be able to share my creative side with you, exchange ideas, take care of my family, work my part time engineering job and my bamboopink business.   I just won’t be trying to be an overachiever anymore.

Thanks for sticking with me.  Smile

Wish I had a thinking place, just like this:

Happy Fall!

  1. glad you are back! excited to see what you create/share because you want to, not because you feel like you have to.

i haven't tried to become a big blog, probably never really will...sure, it is nice to have followers and get comments, but not the reason i blog, nor will it ever be. i am okay with it being a place that holds our memories {and hopes that it will never crash or disappear} with a sprinkle of creativity here or there!

    happy blogging!

  3. Just attended Bloggy Boot Camp, my ground zero jump point for blogging. The one big message I came away with - focus on your personal priorities to avoid burnout. Sounds like you have done so, good for you!

Work should be fun, I'm one of those few who love love, (did I say love enough?) my occupation. It still seems every 2 years I have to re prioritize, get back on track, re juggle the distractions that just create more struggles at times.

It is so worthy to focus on what makes you happiest. I personally love your honesty and willingness to share with your readers.

Looking forward to following you, I'm a newby. :)

  5. We all know what you are going through sweetie! Its hard to juggle being a working mommy, wife, and semi-professional blogger all at once! Especially this time of year what with holidays and all. I'm so happy to almost be done with all the Christmas shopping! I have to make one purchase from Sportsman's Guide during their Black Friday sale, for my husband and I'll be finished!
You are so entitled to burn out, but don't worry we'll still be here when you get back! It sounds like your on the right track though, keep up the good work and try not to stress too much!
