My Idea Board

I’ve been wanting to make some kind of “Idea Board” to hang over my sewing machine.  A place to collect ideas, to-do lists, patterns, swatches of fabric, etc.  Here’s what I came up with:
Idea BoardI started with a cheap bulletin board I bought with a coupon at Michaels.  I spray painted the frame Heirloom white and picked out a couple of happy colors.  I taped off some lines and painted out a couple of stripes.
Painting the Bulletin BoardI thought it needed a little black, so I used a sharpie to add a line.   It wasn’t quite enough so I searched my fabric stash for this polka dot fabric (the same one I used for my polka dot ruffle flats), and mod podged it on.  Much better.Mod Podge Fabrid Then I took a few clothespins and gave them a little fabric mod podge love.   Mod Podge Clothespins I hot glued the clothespins to the finished bulletin board.

I love that I can hang all sorts of things from the clothespins.
Idea Board Did you notice the super sweet artwork my 11 year old daughter made me for Mother’s Day?  It’s hanging right above my sewing machine too!Mother's Day Artwork It was a very good day!

  1. Love your daughter's artwork, Carolyn; what a lovely thing to look up and see when you are sitting there. Love the board! I really miss the bulletin board I had above my desk in our spare bedroom when I was set up in there {in the closet}. I had inspiration pictures, quotes and, of course, reminders of what needed to be done.

  2. Hello Carolyn^^ Im SO IN LOVE with your blog..you did such amazing thing out of anything that we never think about.
