Polka Dot Ruffle Shoes

March 19, 2010

polka dot ruffle flatsI had 30 minutes to spare before school pickup today so what did I do?  Did you guess vacuum?  Laundry perhaps?  Actually I made myself a cute little pair of polka dot ruffle flats.

Apachesprincess at Out of the Notebook and Into the Blog posted a cool tutorial on Make it Yours day a few weeks ago.  I bookmarked it and was just waiting for the perfect opportunity to make these.   I already had the fabric and these black flats were just collecting dust in my closet.  Today was the day.

I pretty much followed Apachesprincess’ tutorial.   The only change I made was that after gathering, I stitched over the gathering with a regular machine stitch just to make sure it was securely held in place before I hot glued them onto my shoes.

They are super cute!  I’m so ready for spring!
